beaming radiant blue
Goodness lives here —
I feel it tickling my chest,
I feel it asking me to slow down,
to rest.
Goodness lives here —
in that pink-purple hue of a clover blossom
and the way I can’t help but say “Awesome”
as I look to the sky,
and see clouds passing by,
beaming radiant blue,
all around me,
all around you.
Goodness lives here —
in that sweet-savoury flavour of integrity
that we are cooking up,
fill my cup.
Look me in the eyes
as we cheers, “yup”
we’ve both got years and years
of hat boxes, handbags and suitcases
oh the baggage
that we’re holding
only beholdin
through the clear mirror
of this dance that we are groovin to,
feeling through —
tenderness of a friendship that is true.
Shall we ditch it?
or just breathe within it
and take the space freely
to open up these arms again and feel the breeze of sovereignty
lifting you
lifting me.
We are safe here.
Though, of course,
yes, there’s fear.
As we fly higher
ignited by one another’s fire
Yes, Goodness lives here
and someday soon again we’ll draw near.
Thank you for being a teacher, my dear.
